Weight restrictions on the Gabriel Dumont Bridge on Highway No. 312, in the vicinity of Rosthern. 

Pursuant to Section 35.1 of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997, the Minister hereby Orders:

  1. The Minister's Order effective 12:00 Midnight, March 15, 2006 restricting weight on Provincial Highway 312 east of Highway No. 11 at Rosthern is repealed. 
  2.  Effective 12:01 a.m., August 21, 2009 and until further notice,

Provincial Highway No. 312 commencing at the eastern abutment of the Gabriel Dumont Bridge, westward over the South Saskatchewan River, to the end of the western abutment.

    Shall be restricted as follows:

  • The maximum gross weight on any axle, axle group or vehicle shall not exceed the weight limit for secondary highways as prescribed in The Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 1999;
  • The seasonal weight increase during the winter weight season does not apply;
  • Section 12(1)(kk) of the Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 1999 which extends primary weights to secondary provincial highways does not apply.

The restriction does not apply to:

  • Emergency vehicles;
  • Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure vehicles and maintenance equipment when conducting maintenance on the restricted bridge; or
  • Farm Equipment operated or towed.

This Order is issued on a permanent basis.
