Nithi Govindasamy

On September 16, 2013, Nithi Govindasamy was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure.

Prior to his current responsibilities, Nithi served as the Associate Deputy Minister for Saskatchewan's Ministry of Agriculture and the Executive Director of the Policy Secretariat with Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.  Nithi had been with the Alberta Government for 25 years before joining Saskatchewan Agriculture in May of 2008.  Nithi’s primary area of responsibility was the policy area of the Ministry.  Recently, he was asked to help drive the plan for Growth in the Ministry and also across government.   

He also spent two years as the Director of the International Governance office in Alberta with responsibilities for coordinating the Alberta Government’s involvement in international development projects.
