ORDER for Road Restrictions on Highway 240

Pursuant to section 35 and section 36, c.H3.01, The Highway and Transportation Act, 1997,

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that effective 12:00 Midnight, July 1, 2001 and until further notice, vehicles other than those exempted below and those vehicles noted in sections 3(1) and (2) of the " The Vehicle Weight and Dimensions Regulations, 1999", on the following numbered provincial highways, (except sections that fall within the incorporated limits of a city, town or village), shall be restricted as follows:

  • Highway 240 - from the junction of Provincial Highway No. 55 to its junction with a gravel road at the Prince Albert National Park south boundary, except for the east-west portion of Highway 240, located north of Sections 33, 34 and 35, Township 50, Range 3 , West of the 3rd Meridian, which shall not be restricted by this order.

Shall be restricted as follows:

  • The maximum gross vehicle weight not to exceed 75 percent of primary weights.
  • During the winter weight season, winter secondary weights shall apply.

The following vehicles are exempted from this order:

  • Any emergency vehicles
  • Department of Highways and Transportation maintenance vehicles when conducting maintenance or accessing sites along the restricted highway
  • Sask Power vehicles when accessing sites along the restricted highway
  • Any recreational vehicle - Motor homes, travel trailers
  • Any school bus

This order does not permit the weight on any axle, axle group or vehicle from exceeding the maximum weight prescribed in the "The Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 1999" for that axle, axle group or vehicle.

This Order is issued on a permanent basis and should not be confused with Spring Road Restriction Orders.
