Ministry Overview The mission of the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is to optimize the role of transportation as it relates to the economic and social development of Saskatchewan. In 2010-11, the Ministry had 1,479 employees stationed in 99 communities. Consistent with the transportation policy objectives of the government, the Ministry is focusing on strategic investments in safe and sustainable transportation infrastructure to ensure the growth of our economy.
Core Business Areas: Planning and Policy Division is responsible for developing the policies and long-term planning that are implemented by the Ministry as well as working with stakeholders. Ministry Services and Standards Division provides budgeting, programming, forecasting and financial reporting, as well as quality management systems, including geographical information systems to the Ministry. This division is responsible for technical standards, information management, performance management, enterprise risk management, and administrative services related to land management. Communications Branch is responsible for strategic communications, education, and awareness programs aimed at promoting public and Ministry worker safety. |
